As a tax consultant in the international tax team of this Big 4 firm you will work on multidisciplinary projects assessing clientВ’s tax strategies and advising on a wide range of international tax issues. This may include planning expansion into new strategic regional markets, working with colleagues to achieve accurate reporting in existing locations and managing productive relationships with the relevant tax authorities. Due to the specialist nature of the role, the firm are happy to look at CTA / ACA newly or recently qualified individuals that donВ’t necessarily have international tax experience, but who are very keen to specialise in this area. Candidates must possess a strong academic background with several yearsВ’ corporate tax experience gained within a Top 20 firm. Candidates with an Economics degree will be of particular interest.

Louise, who is an Associate Director of the company, has worked in recruitment for ten years, and prior to joining us had several years' tax recruitment experience working in a large national agency (latterly handling all their professional tax recruitment in Manchester). Our newest recruit, Ian Riley, joined Longman Tax Recruitment in October 2011 directly from a Big Four firm based in Manchester, where he was an M & A Tax Manager having trained as a chartered accountant and spent over six years with the firm. He specialises in advising candidates at all levels up to and including Senior Manager and deals with clients across the North of England. Ian is very well connected in the local market place and is able to offer candidates pro active career advice and insight. Given his background as an ACA having worked in tax he is also well placed to understand fully the needs of both clients and candidates alike and he offers a very professional and attentive service.
Joanna Longman is a VAT specialist and was previously Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. She has been an active member of various chapters of the VAT Practitioners Group.
