One of the most recognisable names in the Investment Banking industry is currently looking to bring an experienced VAT professional. This role is an extremely exciting opportunity due to the scope of work, responsibility and potential. Based in the City, my client requires you to be driven, passionate and excited by challenges of a Global VAT level. You must have the relevant qualifications, have extensive VAT experience within a large corporate (ideally financial services) and have management skill to drive a team forward.
Duties:
- Develop and implement improvements to maximize overall group VAT recovery.
- Manage completion of the quarterly UK Group VAT returns, annual adjustment and Capital Good Scheme adjustment and ensure timely submissions and payments.
- Advise on appropriate VAT related enhancements to financial and cost accounting systems and finance department procedures, including advice on new systems and procedures that may require implementation.
- Monitor and oversee VAT compliance of European and other appropriate Group locations of branches, subsidiaries and joint ventures including liaison with external advisers.
- Manage reclaims of foreign VAT incurred by US businesses and other material foreign locations in the UK and material European jurisdictions
- Prepare, maintain and update documentation of VAT controls for SOX 404. Provide information and assistance to SOX 404 test team in relation to Tax Group owned processes and provide progress/status reports to SOX 404 team as required.
