My client is setting up a tax function for the very first time and is looking for an ambitious, motivated and talented tax individual to take up what is a rare challenge. Due to changing legislation such as SAO and an increasing tax burden as the company has expanded overseas a need has arisen to bring on-board a tax specialist to cover all tax matters with this leading Insurer.
The role is very fluid at this stage and you will largely determine the direction it takes, however it will be predominantly advisory in nature. You will act as key point of advice for Directors and senior finance figures across the business working closely with the FC and FD on projects and advisory pieces. The role will also involve management of advisors in the UK and overseas and developing a good relationship with HMRC. Alongside this you will look at corporate tax compliance and also become involved in VAT and IPT issues.
You will be CA/ CTA qualified or equivalent with sound corporate tax knowledge. The client would like someone with Insurance industry knowledge but experience of taxes outside of corporation tax such VAT and IPT are not essential.
