A private equity/hedge fund firm in New York City is seeking to add to their tax staff. The Junior Tax Associate will be assisting the Tax Director in all areas of the practice. As a Junior Tax Associate, you will be responsible for:
Working on tax forms- tax returns, tax notice response, trust returns, and gift and estate returns
Filing individual, corporation, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns
Assisting with tax research and consulting projects
Communicating with Tax Managers & Tax Seniors on the status of projects
Assisting on returns involving sales and use tax
Communication with clients regarding tax return information and status
Working with taxable income and allocations
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
CPA or Parts Passed
2+ years of professional experience, preferably from a hedge fund or private equity firm
2+ years of public accounting experience with an emphasis on tax
Broad knowledge of Federal and State tax regulations
Strong experience in staff and tax management
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
