Tax Supervisor needed for industry leader. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior ready to take the next step in their career.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•The Supervisor ensures that all of the operational and administrative federal and state tax requirements are met. Compliance and tax research.
•Assists the Tax Manager with the preparation or review of all federal and state income tax returns, qualification testing, financial reports, notices, and year-end tax mailings. Supervise the Tax Specialists on the preparation of the portions of these returns that are assigned to them.
•Research the application of federal or state tax laws, as well as applicable court decisions to aid in corporate decision-making on any issues affecting the company.
•Advise the Tax Manager on all matters of tax accounting policy affecting the company
•Assist in researching federal tax compliance questions received from various departments.
•Assist the Tax Manager with any special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in accounting, finance, or tax.
Progression towards an advanced degree in accounting, finance or tax.
•CPA Preferred
•Minimum of 4 to 6 years of significant tax experience in public accounting firm or industry position
•General accounting background with experience in accounting principles and procedures will be a positive consideration.
•Excellent legal research and writing skills, and must be prepared to present evidence of same during the interview process.
•Advanced computer skills and must be familiar with Microsoft business applications, Lotus Notes, and other tax and financial applications.
•Experience with corporate tax preparation and/or partnership tax accounting software will be considered a plus.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, and must be developing organizational and supervisory skills
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
MST and or CPA highly preferred
Public Accounting experience highly preferred
3-6 years of experience
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Salary $65-80K+bonus, excellent benefits
