Our client is the Birmingham office of a large accountancy firm. They seek a Senior Manager to join the Share Schemes group. In this role you will provide expert advice and support to our clients regarding the implications of all aspects of remuneration planning for employers. Clients range from very large corporations through to smaller fast-growing businesses - quoted and private companies.
You will play an integral part in the continued growth of the practice and involved in a wide range of projects - from small scale engagements to large multi faceted projects across a variety of industries. The role involves:
* Advising on commercial considerations with the structure and design of employee share plans.
* Researching employment taxes issues.
* Considering the likely views of shareholders and discussing the impact of plans with them.
* Linking plan design to the wider business objectives of the organisation.
* Advising the tax implications of plans and bonuses for both the employer and the employee.
* Structuring employee plans in the context of company sales, purchases, flotations and other transactions.
* Drafting share plan and related documentation.
* Liaising with the share valuation group to agree share values with HMRC.
* Meeting with and advising clients.
* Advising on international share plans.
Depending on level to be considered you must possess:
* A proven track record in the employer consulting market or a share schemes background gained in a large law firm.
* Strong client engagement and management experience with the ability to develop new business.
* Team player with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload with a flexible approach.
* Able to take ownership and use initiative to resolve problems.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Ability to deal effectively and establish rapport with people at all levels (clients, partners and staff).
* Ability to exercise appropriate level of judgement.
