The Tax Asset Specialist will;
Manage the company's compliance with all legal requirements concerning corporation tax in relation to property and otherВ assets
Prepare figures for statutory reporting purposes in relation to assets, including deferred taxation - this will include managing the process of data collection at interim and year end
Analyse expenditure and allocate assets to the relevant capital allowances pools
PrepareВ CT computations in respect of all disposalsВ ofВ assets
Manage and forecastВ CA claims
Support the Group Tax team in SDLT advice where necessary
Interpret relevant tax legislation to enable Group compliance with statutory requirements, Accounting Standards and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to the extent that they relate to direct taxationВ
Undertake effective tax planning in order to minimise the Group's Corporation Tax liability and maximise its losses
Negotiate with HM Inspector of Taxes and external advisors to resolve complex issues and disputes and obtaining favourable settlements
Maintain internal manuals and guidance in relation to asset taxation
Participate in training sessions for other members of the finance team
Provide ad hoc advisory on asset and property taxes as required
Manage the budget for tax publications and licencesВ and ensure software and licences are up to date
Key skills;
Full professional qualifications in Taxation and/or Accounting
Experience of aВ wide exposure to all aspects of accounting principles and methods
Sound knowledge of Corporation tax and Capital Allowance Legislation, including Inland Revenue concessions, dispensations and statements of practice
Computer literacy, specifically knowledge of corporation tax software such as Abacus and good Excel skills
Experience with SDLT an advantage but not essential
