This international bank is looking for a Compliance Tax manager to join its London team.
Corporation Tax (CT) Compliance
? Assist in information gathering and analysis for completion of CT computations, including analysis of specific expenditure accounts as required.
? Preparation of draft CT computations and maintenance of CT compliance progress matrix. Liaison with external and internal providers as appropriate.
? Monitor and prepare draft calculations for CT payments on account
? Assist in preparation and/or review of group tax provision calculations and tax account reconciliations. Maintain and update procedures notes in conjunction with Finance to be used across all entities in line with revised group accounting policy.
? Maintain and update tax compliance timetable for UK entities. Assist in monitoring and facilitating delivery against timetable.
? Assist in gathering data for provision of information to Tax Authorities in respect of outstanding enquiries.
? Provision of information to US Tax Group in respect of tax returns and payments made to UK Tax Authorities in respect of local branches of US Bank, including set up of amalgamated process for notification on a quarterly basis. Co-ordination of US Corporate Tax reports for UK entities.
? Ad-hoc research, information gathering and analysis in respect of specific CT compliance projects as required.
? Assist in completing TP documentation, incorporate additional transactions into existing TP documents
? Prepare and maintain a timetable for updating existing TP documentation and for incorporation of new acquisitions.
? Support the annual audit process by providing appropriate tax analysis and disclosures to Finance as may required for the UK reporting entities.
? Monitor compliance and reporting of taxes paid in respect of the foreign branches of the UK registered entities.
Value Added Tax (VAT) Compliance
? Assist in gathering information for specific companies within the VAT Group for inclusion in the Group VAT return. Liaison with Business and Finance as appropriate.
? Assist in preparation and/or review of group VAT account reconciliations for smaller companies.
Sarbanes- Oxley (SOX) 404
? Assist in updating and maintaining process documentation as required, including incorporation of new acquisitions into process.
? Provide information and assistance to SOX 404 team in relation to testing of Tax Group owned processes and provide progress/status reports to SOX 404 team as required.
General
? Assist in maintaining tax compliance timetable and monitoring of filings for European entities within the Group, including oversight of compliance provider engagements.
? Provide tax technical research support to the Tax Group in respect of specific work streams and projects.
Skills requirements
? Accounting qualified or part qualified
? Tax qualified or part qualified/relevant CT experience
? Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel essential. Any Tax-specific software experience preferred (in particular Alphatax)
? Strong Analytical Skills
? Strong Communication Skills
? Organising ability
This role is suitable for candidates who have already made the initial move in house from practice and are looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate need not have financial services compliance experience but UK and US compliance and reporting experience is a must.
