The Role
- To ensure that the UK companies comply with group tax reporting requirements, including preparing tax calculations, providing tax journals, and assisting with the IFRS tax consolidation process.
- To assist in monitoring the UK groups deferred tax position (under IAS 12) and ensuring that all movements are accurately reflected in the Group's management and statutory accounts.
- To assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns for the UK group
- To calculate the quarterly corporation tax payments on account for the UK group of companies for payment to HMRC
- To prepare CT61s and other compliance returns ensuring payment and filing requirements are met.
- To undertake the Group's claims and elections review ensuring all claims are filed within the required time limits & to ensure that the relevant records are maintained
- To deal with HMRC correspondence on a timely basis
- To assist in identifying tax opportunities and resolve tax issues arising from the Group's UK business activities.
- To work with all members of the tax department to promote the aims and objectives of the department and to work as part of the team.
Qualifications/Experience required
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent
- Experience of corporate tax, including knowledge of UK GAAP and IAS 12
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
