This role will provide VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of UK and international clients reporting to the relevant Manager, Director and/or Partner. You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal skills together with an ability and interest in understanding the client's business. The candidate may have a background in industry and not be qualified or part-qualified with a background in a small to medium size firm. This role offers the opportunity to start or complete CTA qualification.
Responsibilities
Projects:
*Accountable for all day to day VAT compliance affairs of clients, and involved with related advisory matters, whilst being supervised by Manager/Director/Partner
*Provide VAT support to teams in other service lines
*Draft letters and reports for review by Manager/Director/Partner
*Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities to the Manager/Director/Partner, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters
*Understand and adhere to cost budgets and meet reporting timetables
*Ensure WIP is monitored and liaise with the line manager on client billing Sales
Marketing:
*Involvement in tenders for new work
Management:
*Ensure professional standards are met and supervise, support and develop more junior staff, as appropriate Communication &
Representation:
*Develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm
*Provide an efficient and pro-active service to clients and ensure that the clients' needs are fully met
*Pay attention to self-development and continuing professional education with a view to progressing within practice
*Support and work as a team player in achieving activities for the business area - Ideally to work on own initiative
*Consult with colleagues and Partners on technical and risk matters
Requirements
*VAT advisory and compliance experience essential
*Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
*Able to demonstrate the keenness to develop a career within the profession
*Ideally educated to degree level with no fewer that 280 UCAS points and a 2:1 degree
*Ideally ATT qualified or equivalent
